With the weather warming up a little it is time to start watching out for nesting activity at the lake. We have several species of waterbird breed at the lake each year. One of the more easily noticed birds that breed at this time of year is the Purple Swamphen. They will quite often make their nests in the ribbon grass quite close to the bank as this one has done.

Latest Happenings

Lake McIntyre is kept looking so good by a small but dedicated group of volunteers who undertake the day to day tasks required to maintain the lake surrounds. Twice a year the Lake McIntyre Management Board hosts a BBQ where all the volunteers can get together and the board can formally thank everyone involved the upkeep of the area. The most recent BBQ was held on Sunday October 7th. The photo shows members of the Board and the volunteers. We say a great big thank you to all involved.
