(Eastern Banjo Frog)
The Eastern Banjo Frog is also known as the Pobblebonk, probably from the noise it makes. It is common and widespread, and is a burrowing frog. The males usually call while concealed in floating vegetation.
Litoria ewingi
(Southern Brown Tree Frog)
The Southern Brown Tree Frog is an agile climber and jumper. They prey on insects and are capable of jumping in the air to catch a fly.They are found in all habitats including suburban gardens. They seek out wet and flooded areas for breeding, including roadside ditches.
Litoria raniformis
(Southern Bell Frog)
Also known as the Growling Grass Frog, this species is recorded as being endangered in the South East. This frog is active during the day and preys on other frogs. They prefer areas of permanent still water such as lakes, swamps and dams. (Photo courtesy A. Boyle)
