EOY Volunteers BBQ

On Sunday 1st December, the Lake McIntyre Committee hosted the Volunteers End Of Year BBQ, appropriately, at Lake McIntyre. The small but hard working
group of volunteers, headed up by Noel Boyle, who mange to keep the lake and it’s surrounds looking so good throughout the year, were thanked by Sheila
Boyle, the President of the Lake McIntyre Committee.

Four representatives of the Wattle Range Council were also present at the BBQ  – Mayor Des Noll, Deputy Mayor Moira Neagle, Councillor John Drew,
and Councillor Dennis Muhovics, whose wife Pat is a long term Lake Mac volunteer.  The Mayor addressed the volunteers to thank them, on behalf
of the Council, for all the hard work that they put in to the upkeep of the Lake and the surrounding area. He also mentioned that the feedback from
the bike riders who visited the lake on the Saturday before, were all very positive, and most said that they would love to return to Millicent to spend
more time and walk around the lake.

Luckily the rain held off for most of the time, with only a couple of short showers interrupting the very friendly banter around the picnic tables.

It didn’t take long before the conversation turned to the chores that needed to be undertaken the next day.

The volunteers meet out at the lake every Monday and Tuesday morning, and would be pleased to welcome anyone who has an interest in the lake, or would
like to find out more information on how they may be able to become involved.
