For my first post on the new webiste, and for 2022, I have decided to focus on the most important aspect of Lake McIntyre – the volunteers!

Without this very dedicated group of volunteers, we would not be able to maintain the lake and its surrounds to the standard we have all become accustomed to. Our merry band of volunteers undertake many varied tasks each week, ranging from the regular maintenance tasks of clearing the walking paths, weeding the garden beds and removing fallen branches etc., to the not so routine tasks of erecting shelters over seats, and painting and erecting nesting boxes, to name just a few.

As we go about these weekly tasks, our knowledge of the area, including its flora and fauna, is continually expanding. Over the next 12 months I hope to be able to share these discoveries with you.
