The first recording of Royal Spoonbills nesting at Lake McIntyre occurred in January. This rare event was not publicised at the time of nesting as nesting
place was in a position where the birds could have easily been disturbed. Three chicks were hatched and they all fledged in February. The photo is
of the 3 young Spoonbills soon after they had emerged from the nest. We will eagerly await the next breeding season to see if the adults return to
nest again.
