Our pair of black swans have managed a successful breeding event at the lake this month even though it is outside the normal breeding period.

They can be seen out on the lake feeding throughout the day. The young cygnets grow quite quickly and can swim and feed themselves straight away. Even though the parents protect their young vigorously, sometimes they loose a cyngnet or two to predators. With luck all five will survive and give us all much pleasure in watching them grow.
